FinLit U Ontario

This program has successfully supported hundreds of Black moms in Ontario. The program is designed to provide practical guidance on topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and credit management. We will also cover important topics such as taxes, wills & estates, and retirement planning.

The FinLit U cohorts are facilitated by a team of experienced Black financial professionals who understand the unique challenges facing our community. We believe that our approach, which is rooted in cultural competency and understanding, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.

We start September 6, 2025, and will run until November 1, 2025. Sessions will be held every Saturday from with a 30-minute lunch break. Each week, we will focus on a different topic, with a different speaker. All course materials will be provided.

Spaces are limited as there are only 10-15 participants per cohort. Participants must be able to attend all sessions live and complete the required surveys by the due date.

We are also looking for Financial Professionals interested in sharing knowledge on Budgeting and Saving, Credit, Generational Wealth, and Wills and Estates.

Rest & Restore - An Urban Wellness Retreat for Mothers and Maternal Figures

Mission

Provide 25 mothers and maternal figures, an afternoon dedicated to collective wellness and healing, in a safe and supportive space a safe and supportive space, where friendship and connectivity flourish, nurturing a sense of belonging and empowerment.

Objectives

  1. Promote self-care and wellness practices among mothers and maternal figures, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing their mental and physical health.

  2. Provide opportunities for relaxation, mindfulness, or stress-relief activities to help mothers recharge and rejuvenate.

  3. Establish a network of support among mothers and maternal figures, fostering a community where they can share experiences, insights, and resources related to supporting their daughters in sports.

The Experience

An afternoon of collective wellness - Yoga, Sound Healing, and Conversation

Mothers and maternal figures are cordially invited to embark on a journey of connection and relaxation.

We will begin the retreat with our signature Just Checking In experience. Similar to speed dating, this is a great way to meet new people. With the help of our card game, guests will engage in small group conversations designed to foster meaningful connections.

Thereafter, we will lead a guided yoga session where mothers and maternal figures can connect with their breath, release tension, and restore balance through gentle movements. Our inclusive approach warmly welcomes beginners and individuals of all abilities, ensuring that everyone feels supported

As the evening unfolds, they will immerse in the healing vibrations of sound therapy, promoting the final stage of deep relaxation and inner peace.
